Substance Abuse Counselor/Group Facilitator

Hours per week: Part-time: 23-32 hours per week
Shift/work days: Monday-Friday; afternoons and evenings
1. High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in criminal justice or human services preferred.
2. Substance Abuse Counselor certification through the State of Wisconsin required.
3. 3 years experience working withAODA/correctional clients from diverse backgrounds.
4. 1 year experience in counseling/group facilitation.
5. Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing techniques.
6. Interact with employees, clients, and agents in an effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries.
7. Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of all agency information.
The person in this position is responsible for both substance abuse counseling and cognitive behavioral group facilitation. Substance abuse counseling will consist of intake, completing assessments and treatment plans, documentation of progress notes, incident reports, and discharge summaries; and providing group service counseling to clients. AllAODAprogramming must be delivered in a secular manner free of religious components. Group facilitation will consist of group sessions utilizing the Thinking for a Change curriculum. Documentation and reports are also to be maintained and updated. Collaboration and communication with Department of Corrections personnel and supervisor is essential to the operation.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
